Through the fog…

Last week we had some crazy foggy weather! It was so thick sometimes the dogs would almost disappear completely…almost πŸ˜‰ One of my lovely clients asked if I was missing the warmer weather, but truth be told it has been roasting! Its so humid I have still been walking is shorts and t-shirt, albeit with some leggings underneath πŸ˜‰

We have had some of our very dear friends come to guest spot with us over the last few weeks. It was absolutely wonderful to have Cocoa-Bean come to visit, we have known Cocoa since she was a little puppy and Gus especially thinks of her as his sister!

It was also lovely to have Olly join us for a few walks again, we miss our Black Panther when he is away xxx

A good photo to demonstrate the crazy fog! Giorge is like, ‘Eh, guys?? Where are you?!’

This was a particularly damp and chilly morning. The fog was so thick we were getting soaked even without a single raindrop falling! Coats on…

Mega photo catch-up!

This will be a rather mega photo-fest! I have quite a bit to catch up on as I didn’t have a chance to post last Friday due to John and I driving out to our friends wedding, which was beautiful! Here is the last three/four days worth of doggie antics, enjoy!!

Cooling down…

Ahhh, much more like it today! The sun is nice for one day but quite honestly I am far too Scottish for this 29 degrees malarkey haha πŸ˜‰ It was nice and over cast for the doggies today. Both the morning crew and the afternoon team were on top form. We met a lot of nice doggies and owners out in the parks and just had an all round nice day! Poor Winston somehow managed to cut his paw along the way, feel better soon Booboo!! xxx

The hottest day of the year…

It was not just hot today, it was absolutely roasting!!!! In fact I think this was not only the hottest day of this year, it is the hottest day in record for about 4/5 years!! Crazy times….usually by this time the weather has settled into a steady drizzle that lasts until October haha πŸ˜€

Today’s mission was to make sure that at every stage of the walk the doggies were hydrated and as cool as possible. It is really not ideal weather to be walking pooches at all, but as long as they have plenty cold water to drink, stick to shady paths only and of course whenever possible go swimming then they can cope just fine. Today also really emphasises the importance of having short car journeys as a professional dog walker. It is far too hot for any dog to be in a vehicle for long. I made sure to lay out wet towels in the back for the dogs to lie on and to also literally soak Β the dogs coats with water, if they were not already wet from swimming, before allowing them back in the car. Soaking your dogs chest, neck, front legs and stomach with water is one of the easiest and fastest ways to cool them down and to help them keep cool in hot weather. Kangaroos in Australia keep cool in much the same way, by licking their front arms and soaking them in saliva. As the saliva evaporates it cools them down. Google that, its interesting πŸ˜‰

This is how hot it was today, I even went swimming in the river with the dogs!! Fully clothed and couldn’t care less haha πŸ˜‰ Shame I could not take photos whilst in the water as Molly and Ella were taking it in turns to swim out to me, so cute πŸ˜€P1170978P1170983P1170986P1170990P1170992P1180009P1180011P1180015P1170997
